Swallowtail Strings Hammered Dulcimer

Donated by Marianne See

This Swallowtail Strings hammered dulcimer was built in the 1980s in Anchorage by experienced craftsman Jerry Tande. It has rich mahogany and maple woods that produce a fine sound and is in very good condition. Instrument comes with a new padded soft case which accommodates a beautiful custom folding stand. Hammers and tuners (two sets each) are included along with additional padding. 1970s Harmony 5-string Banjo

Donated by Beth Baker

A vintage Harmony banjo from the 1970s! This venerable banjo has a plastic/bakelite pot which was a staple of the folk boom of the ‘60s and ‘70s when many people were looking for an affordable instrument that played well and sounded good. This banjo is in great shape, purchased new by the donor back in the day and was gently used. Comes with a hard case!

Value/MSRP: $300.

Strolling Dulcimer

Donated by Marianne See

A Strolling Dulcimer is an unusual and small variant of the Mountain or Appalachian Dulcimer. This dulcimer has a guitar neck which allows the player to use a strap and play while standing or moving. It has a high, sweet sound and a scale length of 13.5 inches. It was made in Mountain Home, North Carolina, by the Shady Grove Lutherie. There is a photo on Instagram and a TikTok video of the instrument with serial number 001, and this one is 002! It has been lightly used and is in quite good condition.
